Our baby Jack is 1, I can't believe it!! We had so much fun celebrating his first trip around the sun with a One Happy Dude party. Since he's literally the happiest baby there ever was, I thought this theme was perfect!

I was fortunate to partner with some awesome vendors for his big day, and I'm so happy with how everything turned out. They were all able to match their decor with the design I selected, which made everything look so cute and cohesive.

I began the party planning by simplifying my life and purchasing a "One Happy Dude" party bundle off Etsy. Typically I do my own designs in Canva, but this made my life SO much easier. I downloaded the files, customized them, sent them off to print and VOILA!

When planning my kids birthday parties I usually do a backdrop using poster sized Ikea frames. This time around I did the same, but in addition to my DIY, Jaclyn from Jaclyns Calligraphy by Design gifted us a beautiful hand-painted sign - can you believe she painted that herself!! The quality was unreal and it was the perfect backdrop for the kids soft play area.

At the moment Jack's loves any sort of ball, so a ball pit for his party was an obvious choice. We partnered with Play Their Way to create a customized soft-play area for the kids, which was a huge hit. Even my girls were into the ball pits, blocks and climbers, which I originally thought would only be for the babies and toddlers. Play Their Way also carries aesthetic bouncy castles that we had for Chloe's Four-Ever Wild birthday party, which was also a party fav.

The finishing touch to the soft play area was the stunning balloon garland from Bubble Bloom. We also did a smaller garland near the sweet table.

Ok now let's chat about the sweetest part of the birthday - the cake! The Rolling Pin gifted Jack his first birthday cake and I can't get over the shag detail. It was the cutest thing ever, and it tasted delish as well. We also ordered our cookies from The Rolling Pin and they did an amazing job matching them to the theme of the party.

The rest of the decor and the party favours were all Amazon finds which I linked below. I especially love the acrylic vases, which I also used for Chloe's party. They're simple but they add that little something to the table setting, without getting in the way.

The loot bags included a smiley face toque (I linked other options below as well), which is perfect for the chilly season, as well as a cookie from The Rolling Pin and a smiley face pen that I found in store at Indigo.

I think the party came together perfectly, and everyone had the best time, which is all that really matters. I had so much fun planning my first boy themed birthday, and look forward to many more in the future. If you're planning a party soon, I hope you can find some snippets of inspiration here for your little one's big day!
