I'm thrilled to finally be sharing Chloe's big girl room with you! Although her room was the smallest in our home, it was the sweetest, and quickly became one of my favourites. Just like her nursery, which I shared a few years ago, it's bright and feminine, and of course, pink (which is Cocos favourite colour). Although the space has colour, I love that it feels calm - by goal is to always make my children's room a relaxing place; a mini oasis just for them. Not too much has changed in her space, besides the bed, but I thought I would do a little updated walk-thru anyhow.
First things first, the big girl bed. As I mentioned, the bedroom isn't very big, so I chose a full sized bed, with a slim profile and no footboard. A twin would work better for the space, but I wanted a bed that could grow with her, especially since I knew we would eventually be moving. Since her walls are quite pink, and the rug is blue, I chose a white bed, and I like that it blends into the space - I didn't want it to be the focus of the room. I also switch the girls sheets up often with things they enjoy (princesses, Frozen, ballerinas etc.), so I like that the bed is a simple, neutral backdrop for their changing interests. I was originally looking for a rattan bed, but I couldn't find one in stock and fit the budget.
For her duvet, I went with a ruffled washed cotton gauze cover in the colour Posy (a light pink), and to say I love it would be an understatement. It's so soft, that I immediately checked if they had king duvets in the same fabric (unfortunately, they do not). I love that it's a soft pink, which pulls the wallpaper and the accents in her rug together nicely. I kept the rest of her bed simple, with shams that match her duvet, a small Ralph Lauren eyelet lumbar that I found at Home Sense and one of her favourite dolls.
My favourite part of her room is the custom bench seat from Bloomsbury Fine Cabinetry - bench seats are just so charming! I also love her slopped ceilings because they add some character, and of course her wallpaper; even Chloe loves her wallpaper and wants us to do the same one in our next house!
I hope this room serves as inspiration for your next girly project. If I missed anything, or if you have any questions, please leave them below.
