Blue skies, warm nights, and hydrangeas in full bloom - summer is almost here, and you are hopefully now in summer mode with your TKL Summer Box items. This season’s theme? Outdoor entertaining with a hint of hydrangeas (aka Caroline’s dream summer vibe). Whether you're hosting a backyard dinner or packing for a little getaway, this box is all about those relaxed, joy-filled summer moments that feel effortlessly beautiful.

Let’s walk through what’s inside and how I’m styling it all this season.

Rifle Paper Co. Melamine Plates & Bowls (Set of 4)

This entire box was built around these pieces. The blue hydrangea pattern had me at hello. It instantly reminded me of outdoor dinners in Nantucket (total Nancy Myers vibes) and sparked the vision for this summer’s curation. Each box includes four dinner plates and four matching bowls, and when stacked it’s like setting the table with a bouquet.

They're lightweight, easy to clean, and perfect for everything from patio lunches to impromptu poolside snacks. I like to place a woven tray on my counter or kitchen table, and stack the plates inside along with some flowers. Not only does it look pretty, but it’s also easily accessible, and quick to grab when hosting outdoors.

Scalloped Cotton Placemats (Set of 4)

Every great outdoor tablescape starts with texture, and these cotton placemats bring exactly that. They’re soft, breathable, and have a linen-like look that adds an effortless elegance to your summer table. The scalloped edge ties in perfectly with the plates for that subtle layered look I love. Place them on a table when creating your summer tablescape, or use them to line a woven tray - it not only adds texture, but it also softens the overall aesthetic. 

Melamine Wine Cooler

This one’s both functional and beautiful… just how I like my summer decor. Use it to keep rosé, sparkling water, or lemonade cool during those hot afternoons. Or, fill it with fresh blooms and use it as a centerpiece (hydrangeas are a great option, of course) on an outdoor console or counterspace. 

TKL x Boho + Glow Citronella Cottage Candle

We teamed up with boho + glow, a woman-owned, Canadian business, to create this hand-poured citronella candle that's designed to keep bugs away while looking adorable on your table - pairing function with beauty seems to be the theme of this box. If I were living in my previous home, or if I had an outdoor console, I would style it there along with a woven tray and other items that I like to have quick access to while entertaining.

 Bonus: it’s made in Ottawa and smells amazing.

Blue Pinstripe Scrunchie

Our handmade TKL scrunchie is back! This time in a soft blue pinstripe that fits the summer theme perfectly. Think: coastal, classic, and cute. I wear mine while hosting, packing, or when the humidity kicks in (aka always).
