The TKL Shop and Warehouse reno is on it's way and I'm so excited! All of this feels so surreal to me. If you've been following along, you know that I started the shop out of a small room in our basement, so this is really a dream come true.

Ok, so now for the update...

First things first, let's talk about the walls. They're up! We added this wall with an arched pass through to separate the shop from the warehouse space. We also had to add walls in front of the existing walls because they were made from cinderblock and that wasn't quite the look I was going for.

The trim work is also complete, and I'm really happy with how it turned out. We did vertical shiplap in the shop area, and picture moulding upstairs in the loft - more details on what this space will be used for to come!

Now, onto the fun part – painting! This week marks the beginning of the painting process, and I'm really looking forward to seeing everything come together and finally look cohesive. I've also (finally) settled on a gorgeous hue for the kitchenette which is currently in progress – Flax at 50% lighter by Benjamin Moore. It's a bit of a departure from what I might choose for my own home, but that's the beauty of this space - it's fun and playful, and it feels like my very own "woman's cave" where I can hang out, work and fuel my creative side.

Speaking of the kitchenette, I'm thrilled to share that I've teamed up with Bloomsbury Fine Cabinetry for all the millwork in the space. They did all our millwork in our previous home so I know that their craftsmanship is unparalleled and their honestly just the nicest people!

One of the most rewarding aspects of this entire process has been involving our kids every step of the way. They've been coming by to check on the progress, and with plenty of free space to ride their bikes and scooters they're loving it! - they're not going to be so pleased when everything is complete lol.

I fondly remember puttering around my parents' businesses as a kid, and now, seeing my own children immersed in this journey really fills my cup. Kids riding bikes TKL

As we continue to watch the shop and warehouse come to life, we're filled with gratitude for each and every one of you who has supported us along the way. Your encouragement and enthusiasm mean the world to us, and I can't wait to share the finished product with all of you soon!
