Our little Coco is 3, I can't believe it! For her birthday we gave her a few options for a theme and to my surprise she chose watermelon, which quickly made me think COCO-MELON (but not the show lol).
I partnered with some amazing vendors who brought my vision to life - Party et Cie, Event Krafter, The Petite Party and Honeydoll Bakehouse. We used many of the same vendors for Stella's birthday so I knew they were fab! Despite a few hiccups, such as the cake falling on the ground minutes before guests arrive, the party was perfect!
Let's start with the kids table area... I mean HOW CUTE?!? The backdrop for the table was created by Event Krafter. I've been eyeing these marquee letters for a while and I'm so happy we found a way to make them work hot tip: make sure your grass area is level, otherwise strong winds will take the letters down! To go with the watermelon theme we chose pastel pink and green balloons to surround the marquee letters, and we also incorporated the kids playhouse in the backdrop, which looked really cute and best of all, the kids loved it.
The kids table and chairs are from The Petite Party - they have the cutest rentals!! I had originally selected the pink ghost chairs, which were adorable but they didn't work with the theme. The owner was so kind to meet us the day of the party to exchange them for the pink chiavari chairs that match perfectly! The table setting was provided by Party et Cie. They helped me select every detail for the theme and I couldn't have picked it better myself. I love the pink and green scalloped plates (the quality of these was great!), and of course the watermelon napkin! The pink gingham table runner was also a sweet little addition.
The sweet table was put together by yours truly. Typically I print a poster, which I design on Canva, for our parties. I think it makes the perfect backdrop for the sweet table. This one was printed at Staples, and I used an Ikea Ribba frame, which I had at home. The beautiful cake and cookies were done by Honeydoll Bakehouse. She does the treats for all our functions and not only are they pretty but they are truly so delish! The watermelon rice crispies are compliments of my sister-in-law. I added sticks and stuck them into these cute little bushel baskets that I had used for Chloe's second birthday. The rest of the decor on the sweet table was made up of items that I had at home, and of course, fresh flowers!
Last, but definitely not least, the little added touches, that in my opinion, make an event that much sweeter. We added a watermelon floaty to the pool, as well as an inflatable watermelon pool for the little babes at the party. Amongst many other goodies, we served watermelon water and a charcuterie spuntin-o-gram that spelled COCO.
Every guest left the party with a loot bag, which included custom pouches that I made using clear toiletry bags and patches. I attached every child's initials to the bag using a hot glue gun and filled the bags with bathing suits and sweets. Lastly, every family left the party with a mini watermelon.
Although there were some hiccups, the party came together so nicely! I hope this blog post helps inspire you with ideas for your little one's next birthday party, or just a fun summer gathering- there are SO many more fun things you can do with this theme... did someone say watermelon jello shots?
